GET INVOLVED
Help build the institution queer culture has always needed.
The Queer Cultural Trust is in its founding stage. The infrastructure being built for our launch in 2027 is what will make everything else possible. There are four ways to get involved now.
FOUR WAYS TO HELP
How you can support the Trust right now.
1. Plan a Founding Gift
The Trust will launch its formal fundraising campaign once it receives 501(c)(3) nonprofit designation, which it expects in 2027. If you are considering a gift, we would love to hear from you now. Founding donors who express early interest will be recognized as essential partners in building the Trust from the ground up.
Note: Gifts made before IRS determination are not tax deductible. The Trust will notify all prospective donors when designation is confirmed and formal giving opens.
2. Join the Founding Board
The Trust is recruiting a small founding board of individuals who share a commitment to queer cultural legacy and bring expertise the organization needs to launch well. Board members will help shape the Trust’s governance, policies, and early strategic direction. The Trust is particularly seeking additional experience in intellectual property and estate law, nonprofit finance, and LGBTQ+ community philanthropy.
3. Sign Up for Updates
The Trust will send occasional updates on its progress toward launch including incorporation milestones, board announcements, and news about the Copyright Directory and services. Signing up is the easiest way to follow along and be among the first to know when the Trust launches in 2027.
4. Make an Introduction
The Trust’s most immediate need is relationships. Introductions to LGBTQ+ artists, writers, and estates who could benefit from the Trust’s services. Connections to attorneys with experience in estate law and intellectual property. Referrals to agents, publishers, curators, and producers interested in LGBTQ+ creative projects. Access to foundation program officers and individual donors who believe queer cultural legacy deserves a permanent institutional home. If you know someone the Trust should meet, a brief email introduction is one of the most valuable things you can do right now.
